Honouring Indigenous Heritage: A Special Ceremony at Kensington Project

Last week, Decode had the privilege of hosting a reburial ceremony for Aboriginal artifacts that were uncovered during the excavation process.

These artifacts, consisting of clay materials used for artwork, hold profound symbolic and spiritual significance to the Indigenous people of Australia whose history spans thousands of years. Their stories are woven into the fabric of our country, passed down through spoken word and painted murals.

The reburial ceremony was conducted in collaboration with Artefact, a leading governing body for cultural heritage. At Decode, we recognize the importance of acknowledging and honoring the rich Indigenous heritage of the lands on which we work.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have participated in this significant ceremony and extend our heartfelt thanks to the Artefact team for their expertise and guidance throughout the process.
