Design and Engineering

At Decode, we understand the close relationship between design and construction. We work on creating a design with “functionality” as the focus while construction planning moves in parallel. Changes in the design plans during construction are not uncommon. However if design is well thought of before construction begins, it adds value to the end product and saves time. The review of designs with regard to their constructability can be carried out as the project progresses in the design-development phase.

Several characteristics are unique and should be kept in mind even at the very early stage of the project life cycle:

  • Both the design and the construction must satisfy the conditions peculiar to a specific site
  • Because each project is site specific, its execution is influenced by natural, social and other locational conditions in its context
  • Since the service life of a building is long, the anticipation of future requirements is always important
  • Because of technological complexity and market demands changes of design plans during construction are not uncommon. However if design is well thought of before construction begins, it adds value to the end product and saves time

In an integrated system, the planning for both design and construction can proceed simultaneously, examining various alternatives which are desirable from both viewpoints and eliminating the necessity of extensive revisions under the guise of value engineering. Furthermore, the review of designs with regard to their constructability can be carried out as the project progresses in the design-development phase.
